Human Neurochondrin (NCDN) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to NCDN. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to NCDN. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain NCDN, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of NCDN in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Target Information
Probably involved in signal transduction in the nervous system, via increasing cell surface localization of GRM5/mGluR5 and positively regulating its signaling (PubMed:33711248). Required for the spatial learning process. Acts as a negative regulator of Ca(2+)-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase 2 (CaMK2) phosphorylation. May play a role in modulating melanin-concentrating hormone-mediated functions via its interaction with MCHR1 that interferes with G protein-coupled signal transduction. May be involved in bone metabolism. May also be involved in neurite outgrowth (Probable).
