Rat Neuroligin 1 (NLGN1) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to NLGN1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to NLGN1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain NLGN1, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of NLGN1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
For Use with serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Target Information
Cell surface protein involved in cell-cell-interactions via its interactions with neurexin family members. Plays a role in synapse function and synaptic signal transmission, and probably mediates its effects by recruiting and clustering other synaptic proteins. May promote the initial formation of synapses, but is not essential for this. In vitro, triggers the de novo formation of presynaptic structures. May be involved in specification of excitatory synapses. Required to maintain wakefulness quality and normal synchrony of cerebral cortex activity during wakefulness and sleep (By similarity). The protein is involved in nervous system development.

Performance Characteristics
REPEATABILITY |
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle, and high-level NLGN1 were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. |
SENSITIVITY | The minimum detectable dose was 33pg/mL. |
ASSAY RANGE | 78.1-5000pg/mL |
SPECIFICITY | This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for the detection of NLGN1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between NLGN1 and analogs was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible to perform all possible cross-reactivity detection tests between NLGN1 and all analogs, therefore, cross reactivity may still exist. |
