Rat Transmembrane Protein 27 (TMEM27) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay
The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TMEM27. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody preparation specific to TMEM27. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After the TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain TMEM27, biotin-conjugated antibody, and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution, and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of TMEM27 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Plays an important role in amino acid transport by acting as binding partner of amino acid transporters SLC6A18 and SLC6A19, regulating their trafficking on the cell surface and their activity (By similarity). May also play a role in trafficking of amino acid transporters SLC3A1 and SLC7A9 to the renal cortical cell membrane (By similarity). Regulator of SNARE complex function (PubMed:16330323). Stimulator of beta cell replication (By similarity).
