| Background | FEM1A is a caspase substrate homologous to the C. Elegans sex determining protein, FEM-1. Probable component of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, in which it may act as a substrate recognition subunit. May participate in antiinflammatory signaling via its interaction with PTGER4. Overexpression of FEM1A in mammalian cells is reported to induce apoptosis. |
