$RAW264.7 (M) cells were treated with or without LPS (1ug\/ml) for 2 h, 25 \u03bcg total protein per lane of cell lysates (see on figure) probed with ATF3 monoclonal antibody, unconjugated (bsm-60931R) at 1:1000 dilution and 4\u00b0C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at r.t. for 60 min.$

Background	This protein binds the cAMP response element (CRE) (consensus: 5'-GTGACGT[AC][AG]-3'), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. Represses transcription from promoters with ATF sites. It may repress transcription by stabilizing the binding of inhibitory cofactors at the promoter. Isoform 2 activates transcription presumably by sequestering inhibitory cofactors away from the promoters.
