| HGF is a pleiotropic protein in the plasminogen subfamily of S1 peptidases. HGF is a potent, mesenchymally-derived mitogen for mature parenchymal hepatocytes, and acts as a growth factor for a broad spectrum of tissues and cell types. HGF signals through a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor known as MET. Human HGF is secreted as an inactive 728 amino acid (aa) single chain propeptide. HGF regulates many physiological processes including proliferation, scattering, morphogenesis and survival. HGF is a crucial mitogen for liver regeneration processes, especially after partial hepatectomy and other liver injuries. This recombinant human HGF is produced by human cells. (Tag free) Biological activity: The activity was measured by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of the monkey epithelial cell line 4MBr-5. Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin. |
